Travelling on board Tari II we will experience an adventurous time together. Days of strong winds won’t be missing nor will calm weather nights – predestined for an outstanding king crab dinner.Besides the sailing, we will certainly explore the unique landscape, flora and fauna of Fireland by doing some trekking. Our boat is a 40 feet aluminum yacht designed by renowned Douglas Peterson. It was set-up for long term voyages in cold areas, especially Fireland.

Tari II provides accommodation for a total of six crew members. Naturally it is well heated, offers comfortable bunks and a spacious living room. All navigation and safety equipment needed, including a satellite communication system, is on board.


  • 40 feet LOA Aluminum hull and mast Cutter rigged sloop, Main, Staysail and Genoa with Profurl furling systems, and wheel steering.
  • Navigation equipment: GPS, Echo sounder, Radar, Knotmeter, Barometer, Notebook for satellite weather forecasts
  • Communication systems: VHF base, VHF walkie-talkies, HF, Iridium satellite telephone with permanent global coverage

Power: Mercedes Benz – Nanni diesel 42 HP (40 CV) main engine, auxiliary inflatable dinghy with a Mariner 9.9 HP outboard engine.


All safety equipment according to international standards. Automatic 8 person life raft, lifejackets and harnesses. Iridium satellite communications, a MacMurdo G5 SmartFind Plus Cat II Epirb is also part of the inventory.


Heating below deck with marine fuel Refleks heater, 2 head compartments. Comfortable galley and dinette.

Audio system, reference library with books in English, German, Spanish and Italian.

Comfortable bunks with bedding, down covers, sheets, pillows.

Maximum capacity for 6 crew members.


Fresh water for 10 days (700 liters) and fuel for 600 nautical miles (360 liters).
